To support daily charging, a modern power station has been established at the municipal transport enterprise “Avtobus-1” in Dushanbe.
“Akia Avesto Automotive Industry” LLC a joint venture between Tajikistan and Turkey, began operations in January 2018. It assembles and produces modern public transport vehicles under the “Akia” brand, contributing to the country’s rapid industrialization.
It is worth recalling that on February 14, 2018, the Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon, first visited the company, which was the first in the country to establish production of “Akia” branded buses.
On March 19, 2019, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali officially launched the company’s production activities.
To date, the company has produced more than 500 buses, electric buses, and electric trolleybuses of various sizes, which are currently in operation across cities and districts of Tajikistan. The diesel engine buses are equipped with German-made engines and transmissions from “Mercedes-Benz” and “Zahnrad Fabrik”.

Mass production of the 8-meter “Akia-Oriyo” bus and the “Akia-Neru” electric bus under national branding was launched in Tajikistan for the first time.
In addition to production, the operation of “Akia” vehicles in urban areas over the past seven years has proven the high quality of the transport, correct technical maintenance, supply of quality spare parts and consumables, and compliance with Euro-5 and Euro-6 standards.
The joint venture currently employs over 200 local specialists — all highly qualified and trained through professional development programs.

The Dushanbe City Government plans to fully transition to electric public transport by 2028.
The President of the country instructed the enterprise to expand production and consider the demand of other cities in the country.
The company’s management and staff attribute their success to the direct support of the President of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali.
Today, the domestic electric buses and vehicles of “Akia Avesto Automotive Industry” are not only used across the country but are also gaining popularity internationally.
According to analysis, electric buses have significant advantages over diesel models in terms of cost-efficiency, with operating expenses being 9–10 times lower on average.
